Burger buns result in 7,000 pound liability claim

A driver whose hand was crushed when delivering burger buns has received £7,000 in compensation.

David McCulloch was delivering burger buns from food delivery firm 3663 to the fast food company Burger King, when a faulty van door slammed shut trapping his right hand. Burger King staff tried to help Mr. McCulloch but the fire service and their special cutting equipment was required to free him.

3663 admitted liability and paid compensation of £7,000. Cases like this highlight the responsibility of companies in maintaining their equipment and vehicles to ensure that both employees and the public are adequately protected.
